Product Update: UTG Pro MP5 Claw Mount Increases Compatibility

The UTG Pro Claw Mount first launched at SHOT Show 2025 alongside a new Light Mount, and reception couldn't be better. The two launches followed the popular Monolithic Handguards for the MP5 and MP5K from our plant at Pro and leverage our patented easy-to-install and rock-solid locking system. At launch the Claw Mount was made for HK MP5, MP5K, MP5SD and clones. 

Over the past few months we've gotten quite a few inquiries about if the claw mount fits the HK G3. When we took a look we found the dimensions to be close. We could flip the mount around and successfully mount it, but canted like an MOA mount, as the G3 has a claw mount ridge in a different position from the MP5 platform. 

We took everyone's feedback to heart and are coming out with a running product update to hit our inventory by end of June 2025. 

We are expanding the claw mount's compatibility across different firearm tolerances and HK platforms and made 3 key updates. Read on for the details! 

The UTG Pro Claw Mount was originally engineered for the HK MP5, MP5K, MP5SD and clones. We are increasing the claw mount's compatibility to include the HK G3 and HK 53. To fit these platforms we added a secondary positioning cutout along the bottom so you can flip the mount around and install it flush to the receiver. We also shortened it slightly to accomodate the HK 53's dimensions without sacrificing any of your rail. Rest assured your rail is tested and verified to stay secure at higher 5.56 and 7.62 calibers. 

Visiting Enforce Tac this year and sharing samples to some special forces groups for testing and evaluation, we found some armories' MP5s to have an extra large weld seam along the claw mount ridges. This weld seam was preventing claw mounts from sitting flush and fitting the receiver, from our mount to the claw mount from Midwest Industries. To account for varied tolerances and MP5s with larger weld seams, we added an extra chamfer around the positioning cutout for a better fit, without sacrificing stability and zero hold on the indexing point. 

We took the opportunity to lengthen the serial number cutout for better visibility, when checking, returning, or tracking firearms. 

All of our products released under UTG Pro are machined at our plant at our headquarters located in Livonia, Michigan.
